in heritage walking tours

and discover the Capital’s secrets
and hidden history through four new
heritage walking tours.

Fools Rush
In – The
clinking of glasses and the smell
of canvas and horses – these
were the rollicking times of the Gold
Rush era.

Forbidden City – Tales
from the secret city within the city
– go back to when Canada’s
first Chinatown was born.

Happy Hauntings – Ghosts,
ancestral spirits – expect the
unexpected when you take this tour
through the country’s most haunted
city.

Law and Disorder – Robbery,
murder and deadly lovers’ triangles
– stories of criminals and Victoria’s
lawmen.

and historic aspects of our Capital

the Provincial Capital Commission.“These
professionally produced brochures
will be enjoyed by visitors, school
groups and area residents.”
The series
of four self-guided walks was produced
by the City of Victoria in cooperation
with the Downtown Victoria Business
Association, Tourism Victoria and
the Provincial Capital Commission
with additional funding from Canadian
Heritage and the Heritage Legacy Fund
of British Columbia.
The free walking
tour brochures can be picked up at
Victoria’s Tourist Information
Center on the Inner Harbour or at
Victoria City Hall.
