Outreach Visits
Taking the Capital into the Province
As part of its “connect and celebrate the Capital with all British Columbians” mandate, the Provincial Capital Commission has made several outreach visits to communities throughout BC.
During these visits, board members and staff would meet with community members at various events, discuss ways in which to improve PCC initiatives and elicit suggestions as to how to better connect them with their provincial Capital.
Opportunities were created to showcase various PCC initiatives including the Capital for Kids youth travel funding program, online educational resources, historical video series, and the like.
The trips also enabled board members and staff to learn about the uniqueness of the regions, the histories, cultures and important places that make each community special.
